Our lips are considered a highly visual feature of the face. Oversized, undersized, protruding, aged or deformed lips can detract dramatically from one's over-all appearance.
Large lips can be sufficiently reduced, with the incision placed in the mucosa (soft tissue) inside the mouth. For undersized lips, the incision is placed on the skin above the vermilion, the outline of the lips-the junction between the skin and mucosa (soft tissue). The lip structure plays an important role in our facial expressions.
